Celebrating Family Resilience Through Spotlight Stories

What we did:

Creative strategy, family spotlight videos, emotional storytelling, editing and post-production

Story

At Ronald McDonald House of Rochester, every family’s journey is uniquely courageous. When residents “graduate”—leaving the House because their child has progressed in treatment—we captured those powerful moments.

Cura Studios partnered with the charity to produce deeply moving spotlight videos that gave voice to families’ departures—not as endings, but as milestones filled with hope and perseverance.

Our Plan:

  • Storyboarded and conceptualized an emotional narrative arc for each family

  • Crafted thoughtful interview prompts to draw out authentic, heartfelt moments

  • Shot on-location with a documentary-style approach around the House’s living spaces

  • Edited with sensitivity, highlighting smiles, small scenes of joy, and emotional goodbyes that resonate

These videos now serve as ongoing storytelling assets—used on social platforms, newsletters, and donor presentations—to amplify awareness and emotional connection with the House’s mission.

Key Results

  • A library of timeless, authentic stories that honors families and humanizes the RMHC experience

  • Increased donor and community engagement through powerful visual narratives

  • Reinforced RMHC's mission of “Keeping Families Close” with real-world storytelling

Key Takeaway

What makes these videos so compelling is their humanity—raw, honest, hopeful. Cura Studios didn’t just film transitions; we illuminated journeys. These aren't just stories—they're legacies of hope, now captured to inspire support and connection for years to come.

“These videos let our families’ voices shine—and show our community the real impact of love, rest, and home during crisis.”
